Baroque flute boxes are hand made from attractive woods such as Beech, Walnut, Mahogany and Cherry. The tops and bases are made from veneered plywood or MDF making them strong and light. The linings are goat skin suede or velvet, the hinges and catch are solid brass.
Cases of the original Rudall Carte type can be provided in a number of styles – leather covered or solid wood and veneer, slide or press button catches. Where it is used the leather covering a case is fine, individually selected, goat skin.
The lining is suede, in a variety of possible colours, and the blocks that support the flute are also covered with suede and will be made to fit the flute accurately.
I can also make tailored boxes for most flutes and headjoints and refurbish old or damaged cases.
Cases are usually bespoke in order to meet personal needs. Please contact me to discuss your requirements so that I can provide a price.
